Two apprehended in attempted break-in at Ministry of Labor branch
Police arrested two individuals attempting to break into a branch of the Ministry of Labor in the center of Athens late on Sunday. The suspects, a 29-year-old Greek man and a 29-year-old Bangladeshi man, utilized an electric grinder to cut the lock of the main gate, shattering a glass window in the process.
Bogus pilgrim makes off with church silver in Halkidiki
Police on Friday arrested a man for stealing around 1,000 euros, 11 silver incense burners and two silver cups from a church in Halkidiki in northern Greece. He had hidden the loot in a nearby forest.
According to police he pulled off the robbery by posing as a pilgrim, so that his movements in the church would go unnoticed.
Burglars break into Ecumenical Patriarch's house in Istanbul
Three masked individuals broke into the house of Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomeos in Istanbul on Saturday evening, according to a report in a newspaer of the Greek diaspora.
Vartholomeos was attending a social gathering and the housekeeper was the only person in the premises, Anatoli reported.

Authorities in Athens are seeking the perpetrators behind a robbery in which a car were used to smash through the front windows of an electronics shop before the premises were looted.
The unidentified robbers drove a car through a store in the district of Peristeri, west of central Athens, at around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, before grabbing valuable items.

The Vocalist of Gravity Co, Yavor Zahariev Passed Away
The singer, who was about to turn 39 on April 22, was found in a helpless state on Wednesday with a broken nose.
Zahariev was placed in Pirogov's emergency care in an extremely severe condition where doctors were fighting for his life.
Unofficially, the police explained that there were no signs of violence and burglary.
Suspected burglar dies in fall from sixth-floor window
Police in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki say a 43-year-old man was killed while allegedly committing a burglary on Saturday night.
The city's police said Sunday that the man allegedly broke into a 6th-floor warehouse at around 10 p.m. and stole a pneumatic drill. They think he tried to get out through a window, but slipped and landed on a metal awning on the first floor.

A gang that robbed tourists and locals in the center of Athens was recently caught by police after many months of systematic surveillance. Among those arrested, mostly Bulgarians and Romanians, were eight minors.

Burglars threaten elderly woman with screwdriver
Police in southern Athens were on Thursday seeking the three perpetrators behind a burglary in Elliniko late on Tuesday, one of whom is said to have used a screwdriver to threaten a 93-year-old woman in her home into handing over her valuables.
