The last nomadic community in Türkiye, the Sarıkeçili Yörüks, who spend the summer months in the region known as the "summer pasture" in the Central Anatolia Region, have embarked on a journey with their camels to reach their winter homes after a six-month stay in Konya.

"With this heat, maybe I should ask my friends in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf for some camels," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis quipped in an interview with Skai TV on Wednesday night, commenting on a proposal for a mounted police force. "We don't need it. It's an interesting idea, but we don't need it right now," he added.

Saudi camel beauty pageant hit by botox
A high-stakes camel beauty pageant in Saudi Arabia has been hit by a cheating scandal after 43 entrants were disqualified for botox injections and other cosmetic enhancements.
The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival is an annual Bedouin event held in the desert northeast of Riyadh that lures breeders from around the Gulf with prize money of up to $66 million.

SEKAP plant starts making JTI tobacco products
SEKAP announced on Thursday that production of the products of new owner Japan Tobacco International (JTI) has started, just two-and-a-half months after the Greek tobacco company's takeover.
JTI has upgraded the SEKAP factory at Xanthi in Thrace, which has begun producing Camel and Winston Giga buckets destined for daily export to European Union member-states.
