Kılıçdaroğlu says he got people’s message from 1st round of polls

Opposition Nation Alliance's presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has described the May 28 runoff voting as a brand new election, calling on the people to get mobilized for bringing a change to the country, and stated he received the messages conveyed by the people to him in the first round of the polls.

Opposition candidate hopes polls to bring ‘spring’ to Türkiye

Opposition Nation Alliance's joint president candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has cast his vote with hopes that "spring will come" to Türkiye as a result of the landmark 2023 presidential and parliamentary polls.

Accompanied by Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Kılıçdaroğlu voted in a school in the Turkish capital Ankara with his wife, Selvi Kılıçdaroğlu.

Kılıçdaroğlu visits Anıtkabir ahead of pivotal elections

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP) and the presidential candidate of the six-party Nation Alliance visited Anıtkabir on May 13, a day before the critical elections. 

Anıtkabir is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the leader of the country's War of Independence and founder of modern Türkiye.

Schools to be suspended day after election

The government has decided to suspend schools the day after the upcoming elections as they will be used as polling booths, Education Minister Mahmut Özer has announced.

"We will take a break from education the day after the election in order to prepare the schools for the next day in a healthy way," Özer said in a televised interview.
