In a bid to reclaim public spaces and safeguard environmental integrity, Bulgarian authorities are set to embark on a rigorous enforcement drive targeting illegally located caravans and campers along the picturesque beaches of the Southern Black Sea coast.

With the cost of hotel accommodations going sky-high, more and more people are turning to hiring caravans, but a family of four has to spend at least 1,000 Turkish Liras per night in a caravan camping site in the new season.

The third Istanbul Caravan Festival will be organized in Kilyos on May 19, 20 and 21, bringing together caravan users and nature lovers under one roof.

Ljubljana – The newspaper Dnevnik raises the issue of illegal camping by camper vans in Ljubljana in Tuesday’s commentary headlined When Tourist Sleeps Under Your Window. It says the authorities should crack down on the practice.

Glamping, also known as "vacationing in luxurious tents," is an important tourism alternative and Türkiye has established the legal base for it, Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy has said.

The camping sites in Istanbul, which offer an alternative vacation in tents with "fair prices," have become a new trend in the metropolis, with people flocking to the sites in the districts of Şile, Çatalca and Sarıyer.

"The occupancy rate of the camping sites in Istanbul has reached 80 percent for the Eid holiday next week," Demirören News Agency reported on April 29.

Seeking refuge from the daily grind and the novel coronavirus, an increasing many in Turkey have turned to caravans and tiny houses for their vacations as the pandemic, lockdowns and restrictions have made many other, more luxurious, options less within reach.

The Çamlıkoy Nature Park, which houses different shades of green, a clean sea, and camping and recreation areas, has become the preferred hotspot for local tourists during the pandemic with its proximity to Istanbul and its unique nature.
