The tax office offers the opportunity for those who have committed tax violations to reduce the fines imposed on them by up to 50%. However, to secure a reduction in the fines, they must pay 25% of the assessed amount within three days after the settlement.

Today, Friday 2/8 is the last chance for taxpayers to file a tax return or correct errors on one they have already sent in. With the extension in the deadline for filing tax returns, the time for filing amended returns has also been extended.

The deadline for the filing of income tax returns for 2022 has been extended to August 31, following the passing of an amendment in parliament.

However, the payment deadline for the first tax instalment remains July 31. In effect, this means that taxpayers who submit their returns by the new deadline will have to pay two instalments in one month (those for July and August).
