Public debt posts decline in Cyprus
Cyprus is seeing a promising reduction in its public debt, with figures suggesting a return to 2019 levels. The debt stood at 22.3 billion euros by the end of 2023, showing a slight decrease from €22.4 billion in September of the same year. Notably, the debt had reached €23.8 billion last June.

Bulgaria's External Debt Jumped to 45.1 Billion Euros
The gross external debt at the end of January 2023 amounted to nearly 45.1 billion euros (49.9 percent of the estimated Gross Domestic Product - GDP), reports the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).
This is almost EUR 3.963 billion (9.6 percent) more than at the end of January 2022 (over EUR 41.120 billion, 48.6 percent of GDP).
Current account deficit at $3.7 billion in November
Türkiye posted a current account deficit of $3.67 billion in November 2022, data from the Central Bank have shown.
The deficit was $352 million in October and stood at $2.1 billion in November 2021.
"Gold and energy excluded the current account showed a net surplus of $5.3 billion," the Central Bank said.
Bulgaria's Gross External Debt is almost 41.5 Billion Euros
Bulgaria's gross external debt at the end of June 2022 amounted to almost 41.5 billion euros (52.5 percent of the estimated Gross Domestic Product - GDP), which is over 1.6 billion euros (4.1 per hundred) more compared to the end of June 2021, reports the Bulgarian National Bank, quoted by BTA.

The general consolidated budget recorded a deficit of 19.17 billion lei (1.68pct of GDP) in the second quarter of this year, by 10.74 billion lei below the level forecast for the reference period of 29.91 billion lei (2.08pct of GDP), according to a report published on Friday by the Ministry of Finance.
Bulgarian Debt Increased by 6.5% to Total of Over 37 Bln Euros Compared to One Year Ago
Bulgaria's gross external debt (private and public) continues to grow as part of gross domestic product (GDP). At the end of January, it was 37.613 billion euros, an increase of 6.5% in one year. Thus, it represents 58.2% of the country's projected GDP, according to preliminary data from the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).
EC says Romania's government deficit will reach 6.1pct of GDP by 2021
The new pensions law is the main factor causing the rapid increase in the general government deficit up to 6.1 percent of the GDP in 2021, and the high fiscal sustainability risks, the European Commission estimated in the Country Report for Romania published on Wednesday.
Public debt goes down EUR 320 million in one month
Serbia's public debt was EUR 24.09 billion at the end of June, decreasing EUR 320 million in one month, the Ministry of Finance said in a release Friday.
According to the latest data from the Ministry’s statistics, the debt at the end of June amounted to 71.8 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), and the debt-to-GDP ratio fell 0.9 percent against a month before.

Albanian Public Debt Reaches New Heights
Total government debt reached 978 billion leks (almost seven billion euro) at the end of last year, showing biggest year-on-year growth since 2009, according to official data from the debt management office.
It was the first time since 2000 that debt as a percentage of GDP has reached such a high level.
