Exports of medical cannabis forseen in new bill
A bill that seeks to reform the framework for the production and export of medical cannabis was presented to the cabinet on Thursday by Development Minister Adonis Georgiadis.
The bill facilitates the export of medical cannabis products, adhering to the same procedures that apply to generic medicinal products produced in Greece.

Police dog leads to arrest of Thessaloniki man over drugs
A police dog, Atlantas, helped authorities arrest a man after sniffing out a quantity of drugs in the possession of a man in Thessaloniki early Saturday morning.
Two police officers arrested on drug dealing charges
Two Attica police officers have been suspended from the service following their arrest on Saturday, allowing with a civilian, on drug dealing charges.
The arrests followed an investigation which revealed that the pair had been procuring quantities of cocaine, allegedly for their personal use as well as small-scale distribution.
Drugs found in Komotini prison raid
Officers seized 28.7 grams of cannabis, counterfeit alcohol and ten mobile phones during a raid in a prison in the northern town of Komotini on Monday, as part of an ongoing crackdown on crime in jails.
According to state-run news agency ANA-MPA, the cannabis was packed in 33 nylon packages and the alcohol was kept in two buckets.

Drugs found in Halkida prison raid
As part of an ongoing crackdown on drug use and crime within Greek prisons, authorities raided some 10 jail cells at a penitentiary in Halkida in central Greece early on Friday morning.
According to the Citizens' Protection Ministry, the 3.5-hour operation yielded nine grams of cannabis, 3.5 grams of heroin, as well as eight mobile phones and two routers.

Seven inmates charged after prison sweep turns up drugs, weapons
A sweep of the Aghios Stefanos prison near Patra, western Greece, has turned up quantities of drugs as well as 11 makeshift knives and five cellphones, which are forbidden in penitentiaries.
The inspection began late on Tuesday night and was completed in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Canberra Legalizes Marijuana for Personal Use
The Australian capital, Canberra, is legalizing marijuana for personal use, the Associated Press reported.
The Legislative Assembly of the Australian Capital Territory is voted to legalize the possession of up to 50 grams of dried marijuana and the cultivation of two plants per person or four plants per household as of January 31, BTA reported.

Over One Tonne of Cannabis Was Found Aboard a Yacht in Greece
More than 1 tonne of raw cannabis was seized by the port authorities in Gytheio, southern Greece. Cannabis has been found aboard a Delaware-flagged yacht called "My Dream," sailing in Lakonia Bay, according to BGNES.
Two foreign nationals, aged 42 and 28, were arrested.

Port authorities in Gytheio, southern Greece, confiscated 1.067 tons of unprocessed cannabis that was found on board a Delaware-flagged yacht called My Dream sailing in the Gulf of Laconia on Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, two foreign nationals, aged 42 and 28, were arrested.
