Prime Minister Stefan Yanev Tuesday said he was ready to head a new caretaker cabinet if necessary.

Yanev clarified that there are more than 11 Bulgarians in Afghanistan and the necessary measures have already been taken for their evacuation.

The public's sense of justice, which is upheld by the judiciary, must be restored.

"This involves a much broader range of issues," including the new parliament, he said.

The caretaker cabinet on June 23 discussed the organization of the parliamentary elections and an increase in the old-age social pension, which will affect about 130,000 pensioners.
