Türkiye's first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı has commenced his groundbreaking work in the International Space Station (ISS) after SpaceX's Dragon spacecraft successfully docked with the station.

The NASA Space Adventure Exhibition, which has been visited by more than 4 million people in 12 countries in four years, is now open to visitors in Istanbul's Ataşehir district.

Established by HUPALUPA Expo on an area of 2,300 square meters in Metropol Istanbul Mall, the exhibition hosts more than 200 works, including life-size works that have witnessed NASA space missions.

The US Government denied a protest by Jeff Bezos' private space company, Blue Origin against NASA's decision to award Elon Musk's SpaceX a 2.9-billion-dollar contract to take the next two US astronauts to the moon.

In April, NASA awarded the contract, part of a programme aiming to return astronauts to the moon by 2024, to SpaceX over Blue Origin and Dynetics.

NASA has selected SpaceX to land the first astronauts on the surface of the Moon since 1972, the agency said on April 16, in a huge victory for Elon Musk's company.

The contract, worth $2.9 billion, involves the prototype Starship spacecraft that is being tested at SpaceX's south Texas facility.

In the beginning, everyone was skeptical. But Elon Musk's SpaceX defied expectations- and on May 27 hopes to make history by ferrying two NASA astronauts into space, the first crewed flight from U.S. soil in nine long years.

/TASS/. Russia's Energia Space Rocket Corporation unveiled its scheme of a flight to the Moon with the subsequent landing of cosmonauts on the Earth's natural satellite.

The scheme was presented at the readings on cosmonautics devoted to Soviet Rocket Designer Sergei Korolyov.
