Surva Festival 2024 Triumphs with Over 12,000 Enthusiastic Participants
The recently concluded three-day "Surva" festival witnessed an impressive turnout of more than 12,000 participants, surpassing all expectations, announced Deputy Mayor of Pernik, Stefan Krastev. The 30th International Festival of Masquerade Games "Surva" 2024 concluded with festive illuminations and a captivating folklore show, leaving attendees with lasting memories.
Carnival fever looming
The opening ceremony of the Patra Carnival, or Patrino karnavali, which is the largest event of its kind in Greece, takes place this Saturday in the western port city's central Georgiou Square.
This year's theme is "So what if they wind us up? Our dreams continue to lift us up. So be unplugged!"

Notting Hill Carnival returns to London streets after hiatus
The annual Notting Hill Carnival has returned to the streets of London for the first time since 2019, with more than 1 million people expected to take in the music, spectacular parades, dancing and food offerings at Europe's largest street party on Aug. 28 and 29.
Notting Hill Carnival canceled once again
Notting Hill Carnival, billed as Europe's biggest street party, has been cancelled for a second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers said on June 18.
"This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make," they said in a statement. "Everyone involved in the event desperately wants a return to the road where Carnival belongs but safety has to come first."
