Cuba's Raúl Castro Hands over Power to Miguel Díaz-Canel

BBC - Miguel Díaz-Canel has been sworn in as Cuba's new president, replacing Raúl Castro who took over from his ailing brother Fidel in 2006.

It is the first time since the revolution in 1959 that a Castro is not at the helm of the government.

Mr Díaz-Canel had been serving as first vice-president for the past five years.

Vucic to pay official visit to Cuba

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic will on Wednesday travel to Cuba for an official two-day visit at the invitation of President Raul Castro.

Besides Castro, who is president of the Council of State, Vucic will meet with Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power.

Fidel’s sister Agustina Castro dead at 78

Agustina del Carmen Castro Ruz, the youngest sibling of Fidel and Raul Castro, has died in Cuba. She was 78.

Agustina Castro died Sunday at a hospital in Havana due to complications from a recent surgery following a fractured hip, sister Juanita Castro said.

She told The Associated Press that Agustina had been in poor health for more than a year.
