Janša receives European bishops and church representatives
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša met with representatives of the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the EU (COMECE) and the Conference of European Churches (CEC) on Friday. They discussed the global role of the EU, religious freedom and the ongoing pandemic, said the PM’s office and the Slovenian Bishops’ Conference (SŠK).
Pope Objects New Italian Homophobic Law
The Vatican has protested to Italy over a bill on homophobia currently passing through parliament.
The "Zan" bill would punish discrimination and incitement to violence against the LGBT community, as well as women and people with disabilities.
The Vatican argues the bill would curb religious freedoms secured in a treaty signed between Italy and Vatican Repubic.
