Christ is Risen! Serbia celebrates Easter PHOTO/VIDEO
Easter liturgies were held in churches across the country, after which traditional egg-tapping contests were organized in many places. The belief is that the winner of the egg tapping contest (whoever's egg does not crack) will have the best health that year.
Many officials from the country and the region congratulated the citizens of Serbia on the great holiday.
President to attend Resurrection service in Athens cathedral
Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou will attend the midnight Anastasi (Resurrection) Mass on Holy Saturday at the Athens Cathedral tonight, her office said.
On Sunday (Easter Sunday), she will visit the Presidential Guard.
Holy Tuesday - a Day of Humility
In the calendar of our Orthodox Church, today is Great Tuesday - a day for humility and sermon.
In church services, the last moral instructions of Jesus Christ are remembered.
In the folklore calendar, Great Tuesday is the day of ritual carrying of "silent" water by the maidens, which our ancestors used for communion and healing.

It is Holy Saturday, the Orthodox World Awaits the Resurrection of Christ
Today is Holy Saturday - the last day of Holy Week. Orthodox Christians are preparing to celebrate the feast of feasts - the Resurrection of Christ. Church services recall the burial of Jesus Christ and the Savior's descent into Hell.
According to the church hymns, Holy Saturday is overly blessed, because in it Christ, asleep, will be resurrected in three-day period.
