Millions of people worldwide are celebrating the main Christian holiday, Easter Sunday.
This year the Orthodox Christian Church and the Catholic Church are celebrating Easter on the same day. The next time when the two Churches share Easter celebrations will not occur until 2025.

The Laity Pass Under the Shroud of God on Friday
On Holy Friday - the worst day of the Son of God - do not celebrate the mass. In the morning in the temple they exported the holy shroud, which reminds wearing the Christ's body to the grave. In the evening takes place the symbolic burial of Christ.

Easter holiday bookings post big increase
The signs for the tourism sector this Easter are particularly encouraging. Bookings by Greek travelers for trips over the festive season are on the rise, and the flow of arrivals from abroad looks set to strengthen thanks to the fact that the Orthodox and Western Easter holidays share the same dates this year.

Seafarers’ union extend strike for two more days
The seafarers’ union decided to prolong their strike for two more days, during a meeting on Thursday. The new strike begins on Friday at 6am and will last till Sunday morning at 6am. This means the ships will be docked at ports at least till Sunday.

Today is Easter
BELGRADE - Serbia started celebrating Easter with midnight liturgies between Holy Saturday and Ressurection Sunday, and the Easter liturgy at the Temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade, conducted by Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Patriarch Irinej, was attended by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.

May sales begin on Wednesday and last until next Tuesday
The weeklong midseason sales begin across Greece on Wednesday, ending on May 10.
This follows a 7 percent annual drop in Easter sales last year, according to National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce head Vassilis Korkidis.
The May sales window usually opens during the month's first 10 days, but this year the first three days coincided with Easter and May Day.
