Workers accidentally dig out remains of necropolis
NOVI SAD - The remains of a necropolis dating back from the mid-18th century were found by workers of the public utility company Put who were carrying out repair works on a road in Novi Sad, Dusanka Veselinov, archaeologist - conservator at the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments Novi Sad, said on Friday.

Charlie Hebdo killer Cherif Kouachi buried near Paris
Cherif Kouachi, one of the two brothers who killed 12 people in an attack on France's Charlie Hebdo magazine, has been buried in an unmarked grave near Paris under tight security, the local mayor's office told AFP.
Kouachi was buried late on Saturday at a cemetery in Gennevilliers, where he used to live, officials said.
Church of Greece forbids services for the cremated
The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece has instructed its priests not to conduct funeral or memorial services for people who have chosen to be cremated after their death.
The incineration of the body is not in keeping with the practice and tradition of the Church for theological, canonical and anthropological reasons, the Synod said in a statement.

Glyfada Municipality refuses to dig up dead and close illegal cemetery
The Municipality of Glyfada insisted on Thursday that a cemetery it opened in 2011 is perfectly legal and indicated that it would defy a central government order to dig up and remove the bodies that had been buried there as well a demolishing a small chapel.

Duma ratifies agreement with Serbia on military cemeteries
MOSCOW - The Russian State Duma, lower house of parliament, ratified on Friday two intergovernmental agreements on military cemeteries, which Russia had signed with Serbia and Slovenia.
Headstones desecrated at Subotica Jewish cemetery
SUBOTICA - Several headstones were vandalized at the Jewish cemetery in Subotica on the night of February 10-11.
According to Jewish Community Subotica, nine headstones have been damaged, including two of greater value belonging to prominent citizens.
