Greek senior bank bonds are plummeting on Monday, after Eurgroup President, Jeroen Dijsselbloem stated Friday that Greek depositors would be shielded from any losses resulting from the recapitalization of the Greek banks. “The bail-in instrument will apply for senior bondholders whereas the bail-in of depositors is explicitly excluded’, the Dutch Finance Minister had stated.

Poll shows ‘Yes’ vote slightly ahead

The ‘Yes’ camp holds a slim lead in the Greek referendum according to an opinion poll published by ALCO in daily newspaper Ethnos on Friday. The findings put the ‘Yes’ supporters at 44.8 per cent against 43.4 per cent for the ‘No’ vote, with 11.8 per cent still undecided. The pollster said the result is within its 3.1 margin of error.

Inscop: 58.4pct of Romanians agree with introduction of mandatory military service

UPDATE Central Electoral Bureau: 35.10 pct voter turnout by 16:00

The nationwide voter turnout in today's presidential election was of 35.10 per cent by 16:00 EET, the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) has announced.

Turnout was 34.34 percent in the urban area and 36.14 per cent in the rural area. As many as 34.84 per cent of the Bucharest resident voters also cast a ballot by 16:00 EET.
