Local authorities lend hand to cancer patient, paralyzed wife in Turkey's Kayseri

Local authorities in the central Anatolian province of Kayseri announced they would provide aid for a local man who is a cancer patient and his paralyzed wife on Sept. 21.

The remarks came after media reports about 62-year-old Mehmet Cesaret, who has been a cancer patient for 15 years and has been taking his wife to the hospital in a wheelbarrow after she had a stroke.

The construction of a new road to cut through the Middle East Technical University's (ODTÜ) forested campus in the capital Ankara started on Sept. 9, in a bid to connect Bilkent City Hospital to the city.

Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ has urged U.S. officials to reveal all documents it has on Adil Öksüz, who is considered to be the key suspect in the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, after a phone call was made to Öksüz from a number registered to the U.S. Consulate six days after the coup attempt.
