Turkey delays bicycle races due to COVID-19 pandemic
All cycling competitions to be held in Turkey until June have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Turkish Cycling Federation announced on April 13.
"All scheduled activities until June 6 are postponed to a later date because of the coronavirus pandemic. New racing calendar will be announced later," the federation said in a statement.

Turkish farmers continue planting, harvesting as usual
Farmers across Turkey continue works for harvesting and planting while abiding by the measures against the spread of coronavirus and on some occasions with special permissions from local authorities.
Preparations to plant sunflower, corn, beetroot and potato have been completed in the Central Anatolian province of Konya, which is known as the grain silo of the country.

Over the past five years, more than 2 million tourists explored Turkey's Cappadocia region on the distinctive hot air balloons that have become symbolic of the historical region.
Cappadocia is located in central Anatolia's Nevşehir province and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1985.

Man lives alone in abandoned Central Anatolian village
A Turkish man has been living alone in a remote village for a year, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Feb. 15.
İsmail Varol has been fending for himself after his father passed away one year ago, following his mother's loss. He has been living alone in Central Anatolia's Nevşehir province's Çekme Village.
‘Vanadoccia’ in eastern Turkey declared protected area
An area in the eastern province of Van's Başkale district, which is called "Vanadoccia" by locals due to its resemblance to Cappadocia's fairy chimneys, has been declared as a protected area.
With a presidential decree dated Feb. 11, Vanadoccia became a "strictly protected sensitive area."
