Wildlife goes on at Athens zoo
Newborn ring-tailed lemurs play inside the shuttered Attica Zoological Park, in Spata, east of Athens, on Thursday. Five lemurs were born after the site was closed to the public as part of health restrictions for the new coronavirus pandemic. The government is planning next week to ease restrictions against the Covid-19 which has so far helped keep infection rates low in Greece.

Delphi Economic Forum assures of safe conference amid coronavirus scare
Organizers of the Delphi Economic Forum issued an announcement on Friday assuring its international panels of delegates and participants that the annual conference will proceed as scheduled, on March 5-8, and that 98 percent of companies and individuals "remain committed to attend," despite the recent appearance of the new coronavirus in Greece.
Spata leases airplane to bring back school children on trip to France
The eastern Attica Municipality of Spata-Artemida has leased an airplane to bring back a group of students and teachers from the local high school who are on a trip to France so that they may avoid the return journey by bus via Italy.
Delphi Beyond Antiquity | Athens | February 5 - February 21
"Delphi Beyond Antiquity" is a group photography exhibition that will take place at the House of Cyprus near Syntagma Square in central Athens. The exhibition is the result of a seminar of the same name in Delphi conducted by Platon Rivellis and organized by the European Cultural Center of Delphi.
EU to fund remaining section of E65 road in central Greece
The European Commission approved a 255-million-euro investment for the construction of a road section in central Greece, it said on Friday.
The Cohesion Fund resources will be used to complete the link between Lamia and Xyniada in central Greece (part of road E65), connecting central Greece and west Thessaly with the main national network.
Agia Marina-Nea Styra ferry service suspended due to strong winds
The Agia Marina-Nea Styra ferry route, that links Attica's eastern coast with southern Evia, was not operating on Thursday due to strong winds.
Port authorities advised passengers due to travel on Thursday to contact them before setting off.
Population in Greece - 10.7 Million People
In 2019, 86 440 babies were born in Greece and 119 446 people died, which is why the population of our southern neighbour decreased by 33 006 and numbered 10 724 599, according to ANA-MPA.

New cold front to sweep through Greece on Thursday
After a brief respite from severe weather brought about by the cold front Zenobia, temperatures are expected to drop again around Greece as of Thursday.
According to the National Observatory of Athens weather service meteo, snow is forecast in mountainous areas of Attica, Magnesia, eastern central Greece, northeast Peloponnese and eastern Crete.

Four rescued from sailing boat adrift in Saronic Gulf
The four passengers on a sailboat that was floating adrift in the Saronic Gulf without engines or sails have been successfully rescued and are in good health, Greek authorities said on Monday.
