Top Bosnian Healthcare Official’s Doctorate Revoked

Educational inspectors at the Administration for Inspection Affairs of Sarajevo Canton on Tuesday ordered Sarajevo University to revoke the doctoral diploma of Sebija Izetbegovic, who is director of the University Clinical Centre in Sarajevo and is considered to be one of the most powerful individuals in the Bosnian healthcare system.

The Senate of Sarajevo University revoked the teaching contract of Sebija Izetbegovic, director of the Sarajevo Clinical Centre and professor at the Faculty of Medicine in the Bosnian capital, removing her as a full professor at the Faculty of Medicine on Wednesday. 

Sanctioned Politicians Join Race for Posts in Bosnia Elections

Milorad Dodik, the Bosnian Serb leader and Serbian member of the tripartite state presidency, will not be running for a second mandate in October, he has clarified.

Instead, Dodik, who has been sanctioned twice by the US and once by the UK, will be running for the post of president of Bosnia's Serb-majority entity, Republika Srpska.

The Serbian member of Bosnia's tripartite presidency, Milorad Dodik, on Monday said that Bosnian Serbs will respect Sunday's agreement signed in Brussels on building a peaceful and stable Bosnia. Although the agreement is not signed or legally binding, "it will be respected on the political and moral level", he said.
