Holy Fire touches down in Athens (video)
The Holy Fire arrived at the Athens International Airport at 19.30 and was received with honours of a state leader during a special ceremony. The Holy Fire was lit earlier in Jerusalem where the an official Greek governmental delegation received it and boarded on the Prime Ministerial airplane and flown back to Athens.

During his official visit to Ukraine, Greek PM Alexis Tsipras received a guided tour of the historic Christian Orthodox Church of St. Sophia. Built in the 11th century AD by many groups of craftsmen, including Greeks, the cathedral’s walls are adorned with beautiful frescoes and magnificent mosaics in the Orthodox tradition, many of which had Greek inscriptions.
Orthodox Christmas Eve marked in Istanbul
The Fener GreekOrthodox Patriarchate in Istanbul has celebrated the birth and baptism of Jesus Christ with a special mass held on Jan. 6.
The celebrations began with a mass held in the Hagia Yorgi Church, adjacent to the patriarchate's garden, led by Patriarch Bartholomew.

LONDON - Patriarch Irenaeus of the Serbian Orthodox Church has concluded a several-day visit to London that marked the 100th anniversary of the first Orthodox religious service at St Paul's Cathedral.
The patriarch held a meeting with Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, urging closer ties among Christian churches.
