A toddler in Crete who was seriously injured when her father accidentally run her over with his car while pulling out of the garage is in "critical but stable condition," the hospital where she is being treated said Thursday.

In the latest poll four days before the election, ruling New Democracy maintains a 6.7 percent lead over main opposition SYRIZA, according to a poll by Alco on behalf of Skai TV.
Projected results based on voting intentions gave the conservatives 32.7 percent of the votes ahead of SYRIZA with 26%.

A 22-year-old man was arrested in the town of Chania, Crete, on Wednesday for allegedly raping a Finnish tourist.
Fresh poll gives ND 3.9-point lead over SYRIZA
A new survey published on Saturday gave ruling New Democracy a lead of 3.9 points over SYRIZA.
The poll by GPO on behalf of Parapolitika newspaper was the latest after the deadly train crash on February 28 and shows that ruling ND's lead over the leftist party has been cut.

Cretan man arrested for selling church relics
A 52-year-old man was arrested in the town of Chania, northwestern Crete, on Wednesday when he tried to sell "relics of saints" to a police officer posing as a buyer.
According to the police, the suspect presented to the officer seven containers and cases which contained a total of 17 bones, which, according to his claims, were relics of Saints of the Roman Catholic Church.

The palace on the hill
Several indications suggested its existence, but after the recent excavations on Castelli Hill in the Old Town of Hania it is now almost certain that the hill was a palatial center of the 13-14th centuries BC that may have been the most important in western Crete. The movable finds also include a "treasure trove" of 33 silver coins from the Classical period.
