Chaos

The quest for peace

"In the beginning there was only Chaos, the Abyss. But then Gaia, the Earth, came into being… From the Abyss were born Erebos and dark Night. And Night, pregnant after sweet intercourse with Erebos, gave birth to Aether and Day…" Placed before Homer's "Iliad" and "Odyssey," Hesiod's "Theogony" begins with Αbyss, Erebos and Chaos. At the end, Zeus introduces Peace, Law and Justice.

Griffon | Epidaurus | July 12 & 13

"Kaos," an experimental new piece by Ioanna Portolou's Griffon Dance Company, will be staged for two nights at the Little Theater of Epidaurus as part of the Greek Festival. The brainchild of the acclaimed choreographer, "Kaos" derives from the company's 2018 workshop on "Chaos & Order," which attempts to describe how systems and structures are seemingly created out of disarray.

Undeclared war

Governments in Greece may change but what does not change is this undeclared war on entrepreneurship and foreign investment. The complex and dysfunctional legislation, the overlap of responsibilities, the sluggish justice system and the totally ineffective state all conspire to put off any investor.

Citizens in despair

It is time that the government dealt urgently with the pressing everyday issues which concern the average citizen.

It is all well and good to focus on public relations, on communications strategies and on great alliances with other countries, but citizens are witnesses to the fact that vital sectors are in a state of collapse, and the national health system is just one of those.
