Taking advantage of people's fears about the passing epidemic of the new coronavirus, online retailers are offering rubbing alcohol instead of disinfectant and this could endanger the health of consumers. 

The dangerous practice was established by an inspection of the law enforcement agencies and will be banned

Late last night, a signal was given for a gas leak from a gas station. It is located in the Smirnensky district, close to the medical dormitories.

It turned out that a pump supplying fuel to the gas stations had failed.

The area was immediately cordoned off by police. There was no need to evacuate the people in the neighborhood.

Inspectors of Greece's Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) found and seized a large quantity of antiseptics from an unlicensed plant in Menidi, Eastern Attica on Wednesday.

As many people turn to baking bread at home amid the restrictions on moving around, it is now difficult to find yeast products on the shelves in Istanbul.

"Fortunately, the bakery shops haven't faced a problem of finding yeast," said Bakeries Federation of Turkey head Halil İbrahim Balçı.

The tariff on bulk ethyl alcohol imports was 10 percent.

Greek pharmaceutical industries are starting the mass production of antiseptic solution to cover the increasing needs of the country's national healthcare system fighting the new coronavirus.

The government's protection measures have led to a 20 percent drop in demand for gasoline from last year, while the market estimates that, as the measures get stricter, the reduction will reach 40-50 percent in April.

Turkey's temporary suspension of the requirement to include ethanol in gasoline will provide an additional 20,000 cubic meter ethanol capacity for the production of disinfectants and colognes in the country.

Cologne is a traditional ethanol-based scented disinfectant in Turkey.
