Chief of Defence Staff atttends NATO Military Committee, in Greece, discusses terrorism, hybrid warfare

The Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, attended the Meeting of the Chiefs of Defence of the NATO Military Committee, which took place in Athens, Greece, from Friday to Sunday. According to the Ministry of National Defence, the 30 NATO Chiefs of Defence who participated in the meeting focused on topics related to allied operations, missions and activities.

President Iohannis announces he prolonged General Ciuca's mandate as Chief of Defence Staff

President Klaus Iohannis on Friday stated after the meeting of the Supreme Council for National Defence (CSAT) that he signed a decree by which he prolonged the mandate of General Nicolae Ciuca as Chief of Defence Staff, specifying at the same time that the proposal made by the Minister of Defence, Gabriel Les, was rejected.

Chairman of the Military Committee Commends Bulgaria For Being a Reliable Ally

General Petr Pavel, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, visited Bulgaria on 30 Nov-2 Dec. During his visit, General Pavel met with HE Mr Rumer Radev, President of Bulgaria, HE Mr Boyko Borisov, Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Lieutenant General (ret) Zapryanov, Deputy Minister of Defence, and Lieutenant General Andrey Botsev, Chief of Defence.

Bulgaria's Govt Proposes Vice Admiral Eftimov for Temporary Chief of Defence

The government has proposed to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria to issue a decree appointing Vice Admiral Emil Eftimov as temporary chief of defence until a permanent chief is appointed, but for a period no longer than one year, reported the government's press centre.

At present, Vice Admiral Eftimov is deputy chief of defence.
