CEO of The HOME Project Greece receives 2020 Child 10 Award for protection of refugee children

Sofia Kouvelaki, CEO of The HOME Project Greece, an initiative that provides accommodation and integration prospects for hundreds of refugee children, has received one of 10 annual awards bestowed by Child 10 for her work in "implementing a groundbreaking holistic child protection model."

Greece Transferred 570 Migrants From Lesbos to Thessaloniki

Greek authorities have transferred about 570 migrants from an overcrowded camp to the island of Lesbos, officials said. A regular ferry left Lesbos on Sunday night, transporting migrants living at Camp Moria, Kathimerini reports.

Authorities say it is part of a plan to reduce overcrowding at the camp, where about 13,000 people live in a space designed for 3,000.

A Backpack Graveyard Appeared at the UN Headquarters

Мore than 3,700 backpacks, arranged in rows as gravestones in a cemetery, were on display yesterday at the UN headquarters in New York. With this, UNICEF wants to draw attention to children victims of conflict, DPA reported.

Each of the 3758 UNICEF project backpacks symbolizes the loss of one child's life in conflict zones in 2018, the organization said in a statement.
