Oldest American, fastest woman on Everest return safely

A retired attorney from Chicago who became the oldest American to scale Mount Everest, and a Hong Kong teacher who is now the fastest female climber of the world's highest peak, on May 30 returned safely from the mountain where climbing teams have struggled with bad weather and a coronavirus outbreak.

China Stops Expeditions to Everest due to Transmission of the Coronavirus from Nepal

China has canceled expeditions to climb Mount Everest on its Chinese side due to concerns that KOVID-19 will not be imported from neighboring Nepal, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.

The closure of the route was confirmed last night by the Chinese General Sports Administration, Xinhua news agency reported.

The height of Mount Everest has increased by 0.86 centimetres, said Gyawali. After working for a year on processing data regarding the measurement of the world's highest peak, Nepal on Tuesday announced the newly-measured height of Mount Everest.

Turks trapped on Everest rescued

Turkey rescued two of its citizens stranded on Mount Everest in the Himalayas, the country's foreign minister said on March 16.

"We reached our citizens: Muhammed Emin Özyazıcı and Muratcan Kaya who were stuck on Everest by helicopter," Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in a tweet.

Nepal and China Will Measure the Exact Height of Mount Everest

Nepal and China have agreed to jointly accurately re-measure the highest peak on the planet, Everest, which is located at the border between the two countries.

An agreement on joint peak measurement was reached during a visit to Nepal by Chinese President Xi Jinping on October 12 and 13.

The Nepalese Government Removed 11 Tons of junk From Everest

A Nepalese government expedition removed 11 tonnes of garbage from Mount Everest. Bodies of four dead mountaineers were found.

The climbers of the government expedition shared that the stacks of waste had been collected for decades. Human excrements, used oxygen cylinders, broken tents, ropes, canes, and plastic materials were concentrated mostly in the Camp 2 and Camp 3 areas.
