Biden pushes to triple tariffs on Chinese steel, aluminum
U.S. President Joe Biden urged a tripling of tariffs on Chinese steel and aluminum, citing "unfair competition" as he seeks to win blue-collar votes in November's election.

US President Joe Biden is set to ban Americans from investing in dozens of Chinese tech and defence firms with alleged military ties.
The new executive order will come into effect on 2 August, hitting 59 firms including communications giant Huawei. The list of firms will be updated on a rolling basis.
It expands an order previously issued by former President Donald Trump.

US, China sign initial 'phase one' trade deal
The U.S. and China signed a "phase one" trade deal on Jan. 15 that marks a major milestone in the more than two-year trade war between the world's top two economies.
The agreement was signed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He during a White House ceremony attended by droves of government officials and business leaders.
