Turkey arrests two Uighur Chinese for Istanbul terrorist attack

Two Chinese nationals of Uighur origin were arrested on Friday for suspected links to the mass shooting in an Istanbul night club on New Year’s Eve, state-run Anadolu agency said.

Two suspects, Omar Asim and Abuliezi Abuduhamiti, who are Chinese citizens, were remanded in custody on charges of being members of an armed terrorist organization, and aiding in 39 counts of murder.

PM to visit India, Belarus, travel to Davos in January

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday announced three trips abroad that he will be taking in January.

Vucic told a news conference he will be on a several-day visit to India, and also participate in the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he is scheduled to meet with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

Dragon and crescent in the Asian century

The Foreign Relations Committee (DEİK) issued a comprehensive report on Turkey-China relations with an interesting title which goes, "The Dragon and the Crescent in the Asian Century."

This report is one of the latest links in the interest in China that has distinctly increased with the mention of Turkey's possible membership to the Shanghai Five.

5.9 magnitude earthquake rocks western Chinese province

A shallow 5.9–magnitude earthquake shook China’s remote far-western Xinjiang region on Thursday, the US Geological Survey said, with pictures on social media showing food knocked from store shelves and students evacuated from schools.
The quake was 13 kilometres deep, USGS said, with the epicentre about 100 kilometres west of the regional capital Urumqi, state broadcaster CCTV said.
