Four Turkish F-16s violate Greek air space over Aegean
Four Turkish F-16s entered Greek air space over the Aegean without permission on Wednesday, according to Greek military officials.
The National Defense General Staff (GEETHA) said that the Turkish fighter jets entered Greece air space north of Chios at 2.41 p.m. and exited at 3.09 p.m. south of Samos.
Greek coast guard says 1,161 migrants, refugees rescued from sea
Greece's coast guard says it rescued more than 1,000 migrants from the eastern Aegean Sea between Friday morning and Monday morning.
The coast guard said it had rescued 1,161 people in 37 search-and-rescue operations off the islands of Samothraki, Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Agathonisi and Farmakonisi.
Mastic products now in Dubai
Mastic, or masticha (Pistacia lentiscus), the “gold of Chios”, the eastern Aegean island, has found a new home in high-flying Dubai.
Local entrepreneur Mansoor Al Bastaki is the owner of a Mastihashop outlet and cafe in the UAE emirate, which since February offers a range of skincare products and confectionery featuring the iconic ingredient.

Influx of migrants to islands up sixfold
The influx of undocumented immigrants into Greece from neighboring Turkey has increased dramatically, growing sixfold in the first five months of the year compared to the same period in 2014, according to new figures released by the coast guard on Monday.

Greek coast guard rescues 213 migrants in multiple Aegean operations
Greek coast guard officers rescued 213 migrants during operations off various Aegean islands on Saturday night.
The six rescues took place off Kos, Chios and Lesvos. Authorities do not believe any people are missing.
Sirens for Greek transport in the Aegean as Turks take over!
Turkish shipowners have taken over the reigns of transport to and from the Aegean islands. Greek shipowners from the islands of Chios, Mytilene, Kos and Rhodes have either withdrawn or have become agents for Turkish carriers so as to ensure their survival. A number of Turkish ferries have left their regular routes at the Bosphorus Strait for a bite of the East Aegean.

Greek authorities say the coast guard has picked up 216 people in the Aegean Sea who entered the country illegally by sailing from the Turkish coast to nearby islands overnight, raising the total this week to more than 1,500.

One migrant dies in Igoumenitsa, 164 rescued at sea
A 21-year-old Afghan migrant crawled under an Italy-bound bus in an attempt to smuggle himself out of the country, but was killed when his body was caught in the axle of the vehicle.
The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Tuesday at Greece?s northwestern port of Igoumenitsa.
