Banking forum at King George Hotel Tuesday

FinForum 2023, the conference to examine developments in the Greek and international banking sector, is to be held this Tuesday at the King George Hotel, Syntagma Square, Athens, with the participation of representatives from Fitch Ratings and Standard & Poor's.

Speakers will include Infrastructure Minister Christos Staikouras and Bank of Greece Governor Yannis Stournaras.

Greece signs MoC with Egypt

A memorandum of cooperation was signed in Athens on Monday by Greek Finance Minister Christos Staikouras and his Egyptian counterpart Dr Mohamed Maait.

The MoC will further develop and strengthen bilateral economic relations, aiming for optimal coordination for the management of issues of mutual interest.

Donohoe in Athens, meeting with Mitsotakis and Staikouras

Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe, Ireland's minister for public expenditure, national development plan delivery and reform, is due to participate in a conference on the Greek economy titled "Resilience, Progress, Perspective" in Athens on Tuesday, which will be hosted by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Eurogroup President Paschal Donohoe, who is Ireland's Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery, and Reform, is due to visit Athens on Monday and Tuesday to participate in a conference on the Greek economy on April 4 entitled "Resilience, Progress, Perspective", which is hosted by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Greek credit system ‘able to absorb foreign jitters’

The Greek banking system is clearly in a much better position now to absorb any turbulence from international markets than it was four years ago, Finance Minister Christos Staikouras said on Thursday, commenting on global banking system tensions caused by the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and the crisis at Credit Suisse.
