Turkish cinema goes to Hollywood
The Hollywood Turkish Film Festival will be held on Sept. 20, 21 and 22 at the world famous Paramount Studios for the first time in Turkish cinema history. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Tourism General Directorate of Cinema in a bid to reunite Turkish cinema with the global market.

Semih Kaplanoğlu's 'Buğday' makes world premiere in Sarajevo
Semih Kaplanoğlu, the director of the popular trilogy "Honey," "Milk" and "Egg," gave the premiere of his latest film "Buğday" (Grain) at the 23rd Sarajevo Film Festival on Aug. 13, attending the film program alongside the film's actors, Bosnian artists, directors and writers.

Turkey 'guest country' at Balkan film festival
Turkey is set to be the "guest country" at this year's PriFest, one of the most important film festivals, which will be held at the Kosovar capital of Pristina.
The organization is extremely pleased with the cooperation with Turkish producers, said Vjosa Berisha, president of PriFest.

Renowned Turkish actor Fikret Hakan passes away at 83
Fikret Hakan, a renowned Turkish stage and screen actor, has died aged 83 in Istanbul on July 11.
The actor's management said the Hakan had passed away in hospital where he had been receiving treatment for lung cancer.
Cinema nostalgia in town of wood-framed houses Safranbolu
The old cinema building in Safranbolu, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is listed as one of the world's 20 best preserved cities, will be turned into a cinema museum and library.
Located in the northern province of Karabük, Safranbolu is a popular tourist destination known for its historic wood-framed houses.
Perran Kutman receives honorary award
Veteran actress Perran Kutman received an honorary award at the 20th Flying Broom International Women Films Festival on May 23 at the State Opera and Ballet Hall in Ankara.
Kutman was presented her award by the founders of the festival, Halime Güner and Damla Akkaşık.
