Turkish cinema goes to Hollywood

The Hollywood Turkish Film Festival will be held on Sept. 20, 21 and 22 at the world famous Paramount Studios for the first time in Turkish cinema history. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Tourism General Directorate of Cinema in a bid to reunite Turkish cinema with the global market.

A detention warrant has been issued for Turkish film director and producer over his social media posts about the commemoration events for the July 15 coup attempt widely believed to have been orchestrated by the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) and its U.S.-based Fethullah Gülen.

Cinema nostalgia in town of wood-framed houses Safranbolu

The old cinema building in Safranbolu, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is listed as one of the world's 20 best preserved cities, will be turned into a cinema museum and library. 

Located in the northern province of Karabük, Safranbolu is a popular tourist destination known for its historic wood-framed houses. 

French Interior Ministry calls on citizens to vote in presidential election with Saltbae image

France's Interior Ministry has called on citizens to cast their votes in the presidential election through the iconic image of social media phenomenon Nusret Gökçe, the co-partner of Turkey's global Nusr-et chain of grill houses best known as "Saltbae" who has gained global fame for his meat-cutting and salt-drizzling skills.
