Police rush to private school after security alert
Police officers rushed to a private school in northern Athens after receiving reports on Thursday afternoon that one or more individuals had entered the school's premises holding sharp objects.
The developing incident is taking place inside the campus of Athens College, a co-educational private school in the suburb of Psychiko.

Lajcak, Escobar to visit Belgrade, Pristina at end of week - report
BRUSSELS - The EU special representative for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, and US special Western Balkans envoy Gabriel Escobar are due to visit Pristina and then also Belgrade at the end of this week, Radio Free Europe has reported.
Quoting diplomatic sources in Brussels, RFE said the two would be in Pristina on January 20.
Tight security put in place as royals arrive
The operational plan of the Hellenic Police (ELAS) was finalized at the weekend for the security measures on Monday, the day of the funeral of the former king Constantine.
Police officers of all specialties were already on duty on Sunday in the center of the capital as the first representatives of royal families arrived in Athens to attend the Monday service.

Vucic: I expect US to encourage Pristina to meet commitments
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Thursday in Belgrade with US State Department Counsellor Derek Chollet, to whom he conveyed the expectation that the US recognise Serbia's efforts in maintaining peace and stability in the region and encourage Pristina to meet its commitments under accepted and signed agreements.
