A total of eight parties and coalitions have won enough votes in Sunday's snap general elections to enter Bulgaria's next Parliament, an exit poll showed.
According to the survey conducted by Sova Harris polling agency, centre-right GERB party led by former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has won 33.6% of the vote.
Election results have taught the BSP not to backtrack on a number of issues, MEP and key party member Iliana Iotova has said.
She has described Sunday's vote as a massive "nationalist backlash".
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) is trailing far behind conservative GERB, according to most exit polls just minutes after first exit poll results were made public.
"GERB remains the most influential Bulgarian party," said Rumyana Bachvarova, member of the executive committee of GERB, commenting on the exit poll results of the early elections for the Bulgarian National Television.
"Our responsibility is great and we will seek, if we must, a broader coalition for a centre-right government."
