LGBT Forum Progress's executive director, John Barac, said that Montenegro has failed to make legal changes to allow Montenegrins in same-sex partnerships to register their marriages in their home country.

Respecting the COVID-19 health measures, all participants will need to present a vaccine certificate or a negative PCR test not older than 72 hours, or a negative antigen test not older than 48 hours, or confirmation of recovery from COVID not older than six months and not more recent than 14 days.

Montenegro's law on same-sex civil partnerships is a year old, but no one has been able to use it. Same-sex couples are waiting on myriad amendments to other laws, amid concern over the support of parliament.

Serbia is moving ahead with legislation to regulate same-sex civil partnerships, but LGBT rights groups say the content of the law is just as important as its adoption.

The Standing Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church upheld a previous decision denouncing the extension of civil partnership agreements to same-sex couples as an “aberration” to the institution of family.

The announcement was made in response to a draft bill on same-sex partnerships that the government will table over the coming days.

Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos told Greek Parliament on Tuesday that the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZ) government plans to make good on its promise to extend civil partnership agreements to same-sex couples.
