In the EU, more than 75 percent of adult citizens are already fully vaccinated against covid. This was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

She added that to date, the EU has exported more than a billion doses of vaccine to more than 150 countries around the world. The EU is the largest exporter of vaccines, the EC president said.

The number of the COVID-19 vaccines Turkey has administered since mid-January when the inoculation drive began has surpassed 114 million doses, with the country's health minister renewing call for young people to get the shot.

Turkey has administered over 113.86 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since it launched an immunization drive this January, according to official figures released on Oct. 16.

More than 54.8 million people have gotten the first dose of a coronavirus vaccine, while around 47.2 million are fully vaccinated, the Health Ministry said.

COVID-19 cases may increase further in Turkey in the coming days, the country's Health Minister has warned, noting that the number of daily infections has remained above 30,000 for some time.

Currently, Turkey is experiencing a spike in coronavirus cases that climbed to 33,680 on Oct. 12, marking the highest level since April 30.

Ljubljana – Slovenia will follow the recommendation of the national advisory committee on immunisation to use the Pfizer vaccine for those under 30 years old, Health Minister Janez Poklukar said on Monday. In general, the use of mRNA vaccines will be recommended over viral vector vaccines.
