Vandals use sledgehammers to smash bank facade
Unidentified assailants used sledgehammers to smash the facade of a bank on Vouliagmenis Avenue in the Athens suburb of Dafni in the early hours of Monday morning.
The attack, which occurred at 2.30 a.m., was recorded by surveillance cameras, according to the police who were seeking the perpetrators.

Tender For the Supply of 1000 New CCTV Cameras in Sofia Has Been Announced
A tender for the supply of 1000 new CCTV cameras and information analysis has been announced, Sofia Municipality announced.
They are for the monitoring of kindergartens, schools, hospitals, high-risk areas. The contract is worth BGN 6 million excluding VAT.
CCTV cameras must be off when schools are open, says independent body
Greece's data protection authority (HDPA) ruled on Monday that the operation of cameras and video recording surveillance systems is not allowed in schools when students are there.
HDPA said that when schools are closed, the relevant municipal authorities are responsible for the processing of any recorded data.

Unknown assailants set fire to an ATM in the east Athens suburb of Zografou in the early hours of Tuesday, reports said.
The vandals reportedly destroyed the CCTV cameras monitoring the site before torching the cash machine.
Police are investigating.

The Monument of the Soviet Army in Vienna under Surveillance Because of Vandalism
After repeated acts of vandalism against the monument of the Soviet Army, located in the center of the Austrian capital, the Vienna police installed cameras for constant video surveillance.

Receipt led to suspect in Macris killing
A receipt led authorities to the arrest of a 31-year-old Bulgarian for the murder of Greek-Australian businessman John Macris, 47, in Voula, southern Athens, last October, police said Friday.
The receipt, for clothing, was found in a Glyfada hotel that the suspect, and his 33-year-old brother, had stayed in the night before the killing, Giorgos Kanellos, the Athens police chief, said.

Bulgarian national detained over murder of Greek-Australian businessman
A 30-year-old Bulgarian national was detained on Thursday in connection with murder of a 46-year-old Greek-Australian businessman Yiannis Makris in the southern Athenian suburb of Voula on October 31, 2018.
Police believe he is the man who shot Makris.
