A preliminary inquiry by police on the island of Kefalonia has lead to arrest of four members of an Albanian-Greek drug ring. The police detected the drug traffickers’ illicit activities by tracking their huge profits to drug users on the island.

Thessaloniki police have identified 54 suspects tied to a drug smuggling ring operating across Greece.

According to authorities, 12 suspects were identified as members of the ring, which is believed to have been smuggling drugs into Greece from Albania, while another 42 are believed to have acted as their accomplices.

Officers of the police's narcotics unit on Wednesday detained a 32-year-old Venezuelan woman after determining that she had swallowed nearly a kilogram of cocaine in 88 packages.

The woman arrived at Athens International Airport on a flight from Sao Paulo via Abu Dhabi.

Customs officials working at the airport in the Bulgarian capital have busted an international cocaine trafficking ring.

Initially, the officials found and seized express courier shipment with cocaine concealed in a speaker, which was destined for export from Bulgaria to Israel.

The dealer from Bolton, Greater Manchestor, was on the list of Britain’s Most Wanted criminals and was captured following a joint operation by U.K.’s National Crime Agency (NCA) and the Hellenic police.

"One of the biggest drug dealers in Serbia and an international smuggler of narcotics" has been arrested this morning, the Belgrade media are reporting.

According to dailies Vecernje Novosti and Blic, the suspect has been named as K.R., and was apprehended on Monday "in possession of several kilograms of heroin and cocaine."
