Norway union threatens sympathy blockade against Tesla

Norway's biggest private sector union said Wednesday it would block the transit of Tesla cars into Sweden if the US automaker refuses to sign a Swedish collective wage agreement by December 20.

Since October 27, some 130 mechanics at 10 Tesla repair shops in seven Swedish cities have been striking to protest against the carmaker's refusal to sign a collective agreement.

Worker rights abused amid cost-of-living crisis: Unions

Seamen confirm ferry strike for 3 September

Ferries will remain moored at Greek ports on Monday, 3 September, after the union representing the country's seamen confirmed it will hold a 24-hour strike.

The Panhellenic Seamen's Union (PNO) decided to push ahead with the strike at a meeting on Wednesday after rejecting an offer from shipowners for a 1 percent pay increase for crews under a collective bargaining agreement.

Government and public union sign new labor contract raise in 2017

The government sealed the collective bargaining deal with the union confederation of public workers and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security on July 3. 

The contract includes a 7.5 percent raise for the first half of 2017 and a 5 percent raise for the second half of the year, to be followed by a 3.5 percent raise in each half of 2018, plus wage improvements.
