Turkish, American fighter jets to carry out NATO air patrols

Turkish and US fighter jets have taken up NATO air policing duties this week to guard the skies over Poland and Iceland, a NATO spokesperson said on July 7. 

"We thank our Allies the United States and Turkey for contributing to NATO's air policing missions," Oana Lungescu said in a statement.

Romanian Senate Chair Dragu to start official visit to Spain

Chair of the Romanian Senate Anca Dragu starts today a four-day official visit to Spain at the invitation of her counterpart Maria Pilar Llop Cuenca, with the visit being aimed at deepening and diversifying political dialogue and strengthening the special nature of the traditional friendly relationships between the two countries.

New aid enters besieged Syria towns

Aid convoys have made new deliveries of fuel, food and medicine to four besieged Syrian towns, humanitarian officials said on Jan. 19.

The United Nations, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Syria's Red Crescent (SARC) said in a joint statement that simultaneous deliveries reached the towns on Jan. 18.
