Terror suspect granted extension to testify

A 23-year-old alleged to be an accomplice of convicted November 17 terrorist Christodoulos Xeros [photo] has been given an extension to prepare his testimony.

The suspect, who was arrested Wednesday in the southern Athenian suburb of Glyfada, will testify on Tuesday. He faces charges of theft and of belonging to a terrorist organization.

Second house searched following Xeros arrest, bomb equipment found

Police were searching on Monday a second house linked to November 17 terrorist Christodoulos Xeros, who was arrested on Saturday at Anavyssos, southeast of Athens.

The property, in Loutraki some 80 kilometers west of Athens, was rented by a young woman using the same fake ID card that was found at the property Xeros had been living in when he was caught.

Captured fugitive terrorist was planning major prison hit, police says

Captured fugitive Christodoulos Xeros, convicted to six life sentences over as many murders committed by terrorist group November 17, had been planning a major attack against Koydallos Prison, the police said on Sunday.

Xeros had been at large for a year after failing to return from furlough in January 2014 and until his arrest on Saturday in Anavyssos, southeast of Athens.
