Special Olympics 2023 ‘Flame of Hope’ lit in Athens and presented to Berlin Games officials
The "Flame of Hope" was lit on Wednesday and presented to officials and athletes of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 in two separate special events, one at Zappeion Hall and another in the grounds of the German School of Athens.
Joker Out unhappy with result, thrilled by the experience
Slovenian indie pop band Joker Out have finished 21st at the Eurovision song contest, a result the band, though thrilled by the show and the experience, describes as disappointing.
The band got 78 points, 45 from juries and 33 from the televote, to place just ahead of Albania among the 26 entries in Saturday's final.

Slovenian entrants Joker Out made the cut in Thursday's second semi final of the Eurovision song contest alongside Albania, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland. This will be the first time since 2019 that Slovenia will be in the final.

Christ is Risen! Serbia celebrates Easter PHOTO/VIDEO
Easter liturgies were held in churches across the country, after which traditional egg-tapping contests were organized in many places. The belief is that the winner of the egg tapping contest (whoever's egg does not crack) will have the best health that year.
Many officials from the country and the region congratulated the citizens of Serbia on the great holiday.
Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel becomes Miss Universe
R'Bonney Gabriel, a fashion designer, model and sewing instructor from Texas who competition officials said is the first Filipino American to win Miss USA, was crowned Miss Universe on Jan. 14 night.
Gabriel closed her eyes and clasped hands with runner-up Miss Venezuela, Amanda Dudamel, at the moment of the dramatic reveal of the winner, then beamed after her name was announced.

Gymnastics: Kysselef, Belak win medals in Koper
Koper – Slovenian gymnasts Tjaša Kysselef and Teja Belak won two medals in the vault at a World Cup event in Koper on Saturday. Kysselef won silver, scoring 13.200 points, and Belak won bronze with 13.050 points. Zsófia Kovács bagged the gold (13.325 points).

Ajda Novak takes bronze at Canoe Slalom European Championships
Liptovsky Mikulas – Ajda Novak won Slovenia another medal at the Canoe Slalom European Championships in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia, on Sunday by securing bronze in the women’s extreme canoe slalom, a new Olympic discipline.
The 28-year-old rounded off a perfect day for Slovenia after Benjamin Savšek won his forth European championship title in the men’s C-1 event.
