Croatia consents to opening of chapter in Serbia's EU talks

Croatia continues to block opening of chapter 23

Croatia has once again prevented the reaching of a consensus within the EU regarding the opening of chapter 23 in Serbia's membership negotiations.

This took place on Wednesday as the Netherlands, which holds the EU presidency until July, attempted to have consensus on the issue, in order for chapters 23 and 24 to be opened before the end of its mandate

EC: Exterior EU border controls lacking by Greece

European Commission spokesperson Mina Andreeva said the Greek government needs to do more to improve the exterior border controls of the EU. Andreeva announced the Commission would present its final findings on May 12, on the reticence of controls some EU countries have imposed on internal EU borders for six more months.
