Slovenian participants satisfied with debate on future of Europe

Strasbourg – The first of four citizens’ panels held as part of the Conference on the Future of Europe wrapped up on Sunday. Slovenia’s two participants, Rok Ropret, 29, and Max Marolt, 22, said they were leaving Strasbourg with positive impressions and satisfied with the debate.

Social partners and regions get greater say in conference on EU future

Brussels – The executive board of the Conference on the Future of Europe decided at Monday’s session to allocate more seats in the Conference Plenary to both regional and local representatives, and social partners, the Slovenian EU presidency said.

Janša at EU Parliament: EU should start acting more strategically

Strasbourg – PM Janez Janša said as he addressed the European Parliament on Tuesday he believed the time had come for the EU to start acting more strategically, including in the Western Balkans. Von der Leyen appreciates Slovenian presidency’s energy to work on resilience and recovery

Brussels – European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described today’s meeting with President Borut Pahor ahead of Slovenia’s presidency of the Council of the EU as very constructive, saying she appreciated “the enormous energy with which the presidency will work on the resilience and recovery of the European Union after this heavy pandemic”.
