Conservation and restoration of cultural property

A regional laboratory in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, home of many different civilizations spanning thousands of years, has performed maintenance and repair works on approximately 1,252 artifacts in 2023 to shed light on cultural history and exhibit them in museums.

The tiny cracks on the large stone statues at Mount Nemrut in the southeastern province of Adıyaman were filled with "nano lime" with syringes last year for their protection and officials announced that it worked.

MP Mihai Weber, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Relations with UNESCO, is calling on Prime Minister Florin Citu and the relevant ministers to allocate at the budget revision the funds necessary for the urgent conservation of UNESCO's heritage in Romania.
