Independent films comes to three Turkish cities

The !f International Independent Film Festival is coming to Istanbul, Ankara and ?zmir with the most talked-about and award-winning films of the year The 14th !f International Independent Film Festival will bring together the year's most anticipated films in Istanbul between Feb. 12 and 22, followed by Ankara and ?zmir from Feb. 26 to March 1. 

Snowfall to increase its impact on Istanbul

The State Meteorological Service and the Istanbul Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) had warned of an impending snowfall in the Istanbul area, which began in the night hours on Feb. 9. Istanbul Governer Vasip ?ahin has announced on his official Twitter account that schools will not be closed on Feb. 10, since they do not expect heavy snowfall.

'Blonde with AK-47' opens fire on police in Istanbul's Taksim

An unidentified person opened fire on police units with a kalashnikov (AK-47) in Istanbul's Taksim neighborhood on Jan. 30, but no causalties were reported.

The attacker fled after the attack, leaving her gun at the scene.

Witnesses said the attacker was a woman with blond hair and around 1.60 centimeters tall.

Istanbul's official website opens

A new website, Istanbul?s first official digital promotional platform, has gone online, created as a result of the Istanbul Governor?s Office?s ?Digital Platform Project.?

According to the website?s management, the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau, ? has been is designed to bring together all services available in the city under one roof.
