Amendments to Laws on Judges, Public Prosecution adopted

BELGRADE - The Serbian parliament adopted Wednesday the amendments to the Laws on Judges and on Public Prosecution which stipulate that judges and prosecutors have to end their service when they reach 65 years of age.

The amendments repealed an earlier provision, which had forced judges and prosecutors to retire after 40 years of service.

Lack of Quorum Foils Bulgarian Parliament's Last Regular Session

Lawmakers failed to reach quorum on Friday, when they were to hold their last regular meeting before President Rosen Plevneliev dissolves Parliament on August 6.

Amendments to the Waste Management Act and the Protection of Competition Act were on the MPs' agenda after Plevneliev vetoed changes to the latter text.
