NSI: The Total Consumer Confidence Indicator Has Increased Over the Last Year

In October 2019, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 1.1 percentage points in comparison with July, as for the urban population the increase is 1.0 percentage point and for the rural population - 1.6 percentage points, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported in a consumer survey.

E-shopping revenues seen rising in 2019

The total revenue of e-commerce in Greece in 2019 is expected to reach 4 billion euros against last year's 3.7 billion, according to the Greek e-Commerce Association (GRECA).
More than 7,000 businesses in Greece have digital outlets and online users are estimated at 3.8 million, the association's president Katerina Fraidaki told a press conference in Athens on Wednesday.

Most retailers see turnover drop due to glut of offers

Seven out of every 10 retailers polled by the institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship (ESEE) said that they saw a drop in turnover over this year's winter sales period, from mid-January to the end of February, compared to last year.

Only 8 percent of enterprises reported an increase in turnover this year.

In January 2019, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 1.9 percentage points compared to its October 2018 level  as for the urban population the increase is 1.0 percentage point and for the rural population - 2.9 percentage points. This was reported by the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

Greek e-shops earn greater market share

Homegrown online shops are gaining ground in Greece, as 85 percent of consumers in the country use them for the vast majority of their online purchases, according to a survey by the E-Business Research Center of the Athens University for Economics and Business (ELTRUN) and the Association of Business and Retail Sales in Greece (SELPE).
