Croatia's Agrokor Launches Regional Online Shopping Platform

One of Croatia's biggest companies, Agrokor, a specialist in food production and sales, is launching a regional online shopping network towards the end of 2015 or at beginning of 2016.

Functioning along the lines of the well-known Chinese sales online platform Alibaba, A007 will start first in Croatia and then spread to the rest of the region.

Weak lira 'hurting Turkish consumer confidence'

The volatility of the Turkish Lira is the major factor in the low levels of consumer confidence in Turkey, according to economists speaking to Anadolu Agency.

In 2010, the Turkish Statistical Institute?s Index of Consumer Confidence was at about 80. The index runs from 1 to 200, with readings below 100 indicating relative pessimism.

Turkey's economic confidence index rises by 1.5 pct in May

Turkish economic confidence index increased by 1.5 percent to 80.1 percent in May, a second upward move after a plunge in March, according the data released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TurkStat) on May 27. The index dived by 15.4 percent in March to 74.8 percent, the lowest level in its 15-month history.

Consumer, producer confidence on a downward slide

The Economic Confidence Index holds the pulse of consumers and producers in different sectors with 20 different variables. It measures the confidence in economy policies applied and the expectations for the future of entrepreneurs in the manufacturing industry, construction, service and business sectors, as well as all kinds of consumers. Unfortunately, the signals are not good.
