Business morale keeps improving

The business confidence index increased from 104.1 in January to 106.9 in February, marking an uninterrupted rise in the confidence for the fifth straight month since September 2019, data from the Central Bank have shown.

The 100-point level on the index separates optimism from pessimism.

Sectoral confidence starts year on high note

Confidence in Turkey's key sectors of services, construction, retail trade advanced on a monthly basis in January, the country's statistical authority announced on Jan. 27.

The construction sector confidence index posted the highest performance this month, rising 14 percent month-on-month, Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data showed.

Turkish economic confidence hits 17-month high

Turkey's economic confidence index advanced to a 17-month high in December, according to official data on Dec. 30.

The figure hit 93.8 this month, while it was 95.1 in July last year, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data showed.

Confidence in Turkey's economy climbed 2.6% month-on-month in December, TÜİK said.

Turkey’s consumer confidence index at 58.8 in December

Turkish consumers' confidence in the country's economy was 58.8 in December, Turkey's statistical authority revealed on Dec. 20.

Consumer confidence in Turkish economy deteriorated this month after rising for two consecutive months.

The figure dropped 1.9 percent month-on-month in December, Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) said in a statement.

NSI: The Total Consumer Confidence Indicator Has Increased Over the Last Year

In October 2019, the total consumer confidence indicator increases by 1.1 percentage points in comparison with July, as for the urban population the increase is 1.0 percentage point and for the rural population - 1.6 percentage points, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported in a consumer survey.
